
Millikin University's Kirkland Fine Arts Center – Perkinson Gallery
Decatur, Illinois--- STAN MASTERS: MIDWESTERN REALIST, is an exhibition featuring the watercolor artist born in Kirkwood Missouri, Stan Masters. The exhibition will be on display at Millikin University's Kirkland Fine Arts Center – Perkinson Gallery, Thursday November 1, 2007 through December 14, 2007. The Exhibit Opening and Lecture by Masters scholar Robert Morrissey will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 from 6pm to 8pm. Though Stan Masters was born into a family of railroad workers, he always believed he would be an artist. He spent twenty years in the Commercial Art industry and later became a watercolor painter who admired the great artists Winslow Homer and Edward Hopper. Masters won several art shows and exhibited his works many times throughout his professional career. In November 2005 Stan Masters passed away leaving a legacy of artistic achievements. The original watercolor paintings will be available for sale at the gallery throughout the duration of the exhibit with portions of the proceeds benefiting the Millikin student owned gallery the BlueConnection. STAN MASTERS: MIDWESTERN REALIST exhibition has been made possible through the generosity of Carlene Masters and Robert Morrissey.
